Ironstone Universal 90% is a top-quality shade cloth brand that will block 90% of UV light and is a great choice for when you need privacy screening or high quality UV block for people or pets.
This 200gsm HPDE knitted shade cloth is very durable and it has a lightweight tape filler which allows the shade cloth to achieve a 90% UV block rating without becoming too heavy or unwieldy. Ironstone Universal 90% is made with the harsh Australian climate in mind, it is UV stabilised and has proven to be long-lasting under the Australian sun. It is available in multiple colours and sizes to suit a variety of situations.
Ironstone Universal 90% is not suitable for applications that require it to be under tension such as shadesails but it will work perfectly for pergolas, privacy screens and so on.
This shade cloth is popular for protecting people and pets from the sun. It’s perfect for pergolas, privacy screens, blinds, awnings, and covers for greenhouses or sand pits. We don’t recommend this shade cloth be used to shade plants but orchids or ferns may prefer this much shade.
A word on colour: If you are intending to use shade cloth as a privacy screen, please bear in mind that lighter colours like Light Grey, Light Green, or Sandstone will reflect more light and make looking through the shade cloth harder than if you were to use a darker colour that will absorb the light such as Black or Slate.
